ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Having taken some time off from the stresses of being a manager at the top level, Conte is back in Serie A. The former Spurs and Chelsea boss has a decorated career, winning the Premier League and will be hoping to take Napoli back to the top after they recorded a poor title defence in 2023-24.

WHAT CONTE SAID
Speaking for the first time in his new role, Conte said: "Napoli is a place of global importance. I am happy and excited at the idea of sitting on the blue bench. I can certainly promise one thing: I will do my utmost for the growth of the team and the club. My commitment, together with that of my staff, it will be total."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Conte knows the Serie A like the back of his hand and there is little doubt that he will steer Napoli back towards the top of the table during his three-year stay. He has previously had stints in charge of Atalanta, Juventus and Inter and usually commands high standards and a high budget. With Victor Osimhen potentially on his way out of the club, Conte could have upwards of €100 million to spend.

WHAT NEXT FOR CONTE AND NAPOLI?
The 54-year-old will likely have to wait to meet most of his first-team squad until pre-season begins in July. Plenty of his top stars are away on international duty but that will not stop Conte from steaming ahead with his transfer plans.
