ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Arsenal are attempting to get a deal done for Valencia's Mosquera, with personal terms already agreed with the Spain Under-21 international. They have already had a €15 million (£12.9 million/$17.6 million) offer rejected by the La Liga side, who are thought to be holding out for €25 million even though the defender's contract expires next year.

Arsenal were hit hard by injuries throughout the 2024-25 season, derailing their Premier League title challenge as they finished runners-up behind champions Liverpool. First choice centre-back duo William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes both missed the end of the campaign and a fresh arrival would help bolster Mikel Arteta's options if fitness issues crop up again next term.

WHAT NEXT FOR MOSQUERA AND ARSENAL?
While Mosquera waits for some movement in his transfer saga, Arsenal have been getting to work elsewhere. Spain international Martin Zubimendi has arrived from Real Sociedad, while Christian Norgaard's move from Brentford is expected to be announced later this week.
